Doug Allen
A love of wood and finding what can be created from it led Doug to woodcarving and woodturning. His past includes serving as an Assistant District Attorney and District Judge in Louisiana. For the past twenty-five years he has served as a pastor and currently serves as pastor of First Baptist Church of Saint Jo. Taking pieces of wood, and through patience and experience seeing them become beautiful pens and realistic birds and fish, became a passion that fills his spare hours.
That passion is now shared through Doug’s business, Along the Trail Woodcarving. “It is so amazing to find what lies within the wood. What may appear dull and nondescript can, through the patient removal of some of the wood, becomes that which is beautiful, and even very functional like the pens and razors. It is a great blessing to work with what God created and entrusted to us.”
